SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) on Monday announced the second list of newly elected office bearers, following the conclusion of its ongoing electoral and consultative process. This move is part of the Association’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence and institutional effectiveness by empowering dynamic student leaders across a wider spectrum of Indian states, union territories, and university campuses. The newly elected leaders are expected to play a pivotal role in furthering JKSA’s mission both within India and abroad.
Among the notable elections, Rahool Banka has been elected as the Chief Spokesperson of the Association. Shahid Peer has been elected as the State Secretary for Jammu and Kashmir, while Aamir Hassan will serve as the Incharge for Central Kashmir and also as the Unit President of Islamia College. Furqan Janwari has been elected as the Coordinator for North Kashmir.
Strengthening its healthcare and student representation, Shahid Mir has been elected President of the J&K Nursing Wing, with Tawseef Ayoub as its Vice President. Musa Yousuf has been elected President of the Paramedical Students Association Wing. The Government Medical College (GMC) units also see new leadership with Owais Ashraf elected as Unit President of GMC Srinagar and Varun Jagotra as Vice President. Idrees Ahmad will head GMC Jammu as its Unit President.
The Association continues to grow its presence outside Jammu and Kashmir as well, with Dr. Anamul Haq elected as the State Vice President for Uttar Pradesh and Irfan Sarwar as Vice President for Chandigarh Union Territory.
In the media and communications division, Sumaya Sultana has been elected as Media Coordinator for Jammu and Kashmir, alongside Syed Adnan Hashmi and Gowhar Manzoor, who will also serve as Media Coordinators in the region. Muzamil Reshi joins the communications team as Additional Spokesperson.
Further strengthening its social outreach and inclusion efforts, Rizwan Ahmad has been elected President of the Gujjar-Bakerwal Wing. Ahmed Nayar will lead as the Unit President of SP Higher Secondary School. Shafat Hassan has been elected as General Secretary of the Nursing Wing, while Peerzada Mehbooba-ul-Haq joins the Advisory Board as a new member.
Expanding its academic engagement, Umer Bashir has been elected as the Coordinator at the National Institute of Technology (NIT). Mubashir Ahmed will serve as the Coordinator for Ramban, Udhampur, and Reasi districts, ensuring outreach in these regions as well.
The Central Working Committee of the Association congratulated the newly elected office bearers, expressing confidence in their dedication and enthusiasm to ensure the welfare and betterment of Jammu and Kashmir’s student community. Newly elected National Chairperson Mushtaq Habeeb emphasized the importance of working together to make the JKSA a stronger and more effective platform for students. He expressed eagerness to expand the association’s reach and impact.
