RAMBAN: Department of Industries & Commerce/District Industries Centre (DIC) Ramban, in collaboration with Government Degree College Ramban today organised an Awareness Camp-cum-Outreach Programme on various self-employment and entrepreneurship schemes within the college premises. The event aimed to inspire and equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become successful entrepreneurs.
In his welcome address, Convener Career Counselling and Placement Cell, Dr. Jawaid Sarver warmly welcomed the speakers, staff and students participating in the self-employment awareness programme. The event sought to create awareness among students, aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed youth about the wide range of schemes and incentives being implemented by DIC Ramban to promote entrepreneurship, self-employment and industrial development in the district.
Emphasising the importance of entrepreneurship in todayâs world, Principal Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri encouraged students to think beyond traditional career paths and explore their interests. A large number of students participated enthusiastically, raising queries regarding eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and project formulation, which were addressed by the resource persons.
General Manager DIC Ramban, Ravinder Anand, highlighted the efforts made by the department under the guidance of Director Industries and Commerce Jammu, Arun Manhas, emphasising the need for students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and encouraging them to pursue their passions. He appreciated the role of all stakeholders in organising the programme and reaffirmed the commitment of DIC Ramban and the college to work jointly for empowering youth and promoting sustainable economic development in the district.
Earlier, keynote speakers Kuldeep Singh, Project Manager DIC Ramban and Lovepreet Singh from District Employment Office Ramban emphasised the importance of innovation, risk-taking and perseverance in entrepreneurship. They provided detailed information about key self-employment initiatives, financial assistance schemes, enterprise registration procedures, incentives for MSMEs and other government programmes aimed at encouraging local enterprise development.
