DODA: In light of the ongoing winter season, the District Administration Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sh. Harvinder Singh, has established Red Cross Bhawans to provide emergency healthcare to expecting mothers residing in snowbound and far-flung areas. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Om Kumar stated that these Red Cross Bhawans have been set up in collaboration with the Health Department at key locations, including Girls Hostel GHSS Doda, Trauma Hospital Khellani, SDH Bhaderwah, CHC Thathri, and SDH Gandoh. These facilities have been dedicated to provide specialized care to pregnant women of the respective areas to ensure safe deliveries.
The CMO further informed that accommodation along with meals will be provided to the pregnant woman and her attendant during their stay at these facilities, ensuring comfort and proper care prior to the delivery. Dr. Om Kumar appealed to families having expecting mothers and living in snowbound and remote areas to utilize these services by visiting the nearest Red Cross Bhawan. He emphasized that the initiative aims to prioritize the health and safety of both mothers and newborns during this challenging winter period.
