JAMMU: Mir Sarwar, a celebrated actor and director from Kashmir, has long been a prominent figure in Bollywood, with an impressive portfolio of over 100 films and web series. Renowned for his talent not only as an actor but also as a director and scriptwriter, he remains deeply committed to the growth and upliftment of the Kashmiri and Jammu & Kashmir film industries.
In recognition of his contributions to the performing arts, Mir Sarwar was honored with a state award by the Jammu and Kashmir government in 2023. He is also an award-winning photographer, acknowledged by the Cultural Academy for his artistic achievements. Over the years, he has actively engaged in theatre, modelling, television, films, and digital platforms.
Currently, he has three major projects on the horizon: the Telugu film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the international project Love in Vietnam, and a web series titled Salahkaar. His latest release, Akshardham, premiered in July 2025. In July 2025, audiences also witnessed the release of “Akshardham”, a powerful film that adds to his ever-growing legacy.
This year, his presence is felt across India and beyond with three major upcoming releases:
- 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', a much-anticipated Telugu blockbuster
- 'Love in Vietnam', a cross-cultural cinematic story

Mir Sarwar recently concluded filming Tasrufdaar (Jinns of Kashmir) under his own production banner, Safdar Arts. The film was directed by Kapil Mattoo. In addition, he produced and directed Sweet Poison, a film written by Junaid Imam, with additional dialogues penned by Mir Sarwar himself.
Both films are dedicated to showcasing the stories and culture of Kashmir. Through his focus on independent cinema, Mir Sarwar continues to champion and popularize the region’s rich cinematic heritage. As he balances commercial success with a commitment to indie cinema, Mir Sarwar remains an inspiration—bridging art, activism, and storytelling.
