POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the National Highway (NH-144A), a crucial initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting economic development in Poonch and its surrounding areas.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner toured several key sites, including Sukha Khata, Kankote, Nangali zone, Janyar, Dingla, and Chandak, besides various bridges to take stock of the pace of work progress. He emphasized the importance of executing the project according to prescribed specifications and the highest engineering standards.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significance of the highway project in facilitating smoother transportation, boosting local businesses, and providing residents with improved access to essential services. He noted that land acquisition for all related projects has been successfully completed, with compensation awards already issued to some affected landowners.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for transparency and fairness in the compensation process, ensuring that genuine beneficiaries receive the support they deserve.
