POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal convened a meeting here today in the conference hall of the DC office to review the arrangements for the Gurpurab/Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The meeting saw participation from departmental officers, members of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, and other religious leaders.
Comprehensive discussions were held on critical issues, including the assurance of uninterrupted power and water supply, security measures during the Nagar Kirtan, and a special sanitation drive around the Gurdwaras, besides provision of ambulances, water tankers etc along the procession route. The Nagar Kirtan is scheduled on January 04, 2025, followed by the Gurpurab celebrations on January 06, 2025.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Officer Municipality Council to conducted cleanliness around all identified religious sites. He instructed the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD) to make sure a continuous supply of water and electricity, alongside additional water tankers at main venues.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Fire Emergency department to be on alert during the celebrations, ensuring that adequate fire safety measures are in place. He also directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to deploy ambulances during the procession to ensure prompt medical assistance, if needed.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for robust security arrangements, directing police authorities to deploy adequate personnel for the procession and at key locations to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the events.
