RAMBAN: Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, today reviewed the preparations for Population Enumeration Phase-II of Census-2027 in the snow-bound areas of the district at a meeting held here.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Census Officer (District Statistics and Evaluation Officer) Ashfaq Ur Rehman; District Coordinator, Anish Sharma; Charge Officers (Tehsildars) and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparedness for various components of Phase-II, including training of Census functionaries, geo-tagging and demarcation of Enumeration Blocks (EBs), mobilisation of Enumerators and Supervisors and other field-level arrangements.
During the meeting, the District Statistics and Evaluation Officer (DSEO) made a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the preparations for Population Enumeration Phase-II, apprising the meeting of the status of preparedness across the district, including charge-wise arrangements and requirements for the smooth conduct of the enumeration process in the snow-bound areas.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all Charge Officers to expedite the remaining preparatory activities and ensure that Enumerators and Supervisors are fully mobilised and adequately prepared for the commencement of Population Enumeration Phase-II in the snow-bound areas. He stressed the need for close coordination among Census officials, field functionaries and the district administration to ensure complete, accurate and timely enumeration.
The meeting was informed that the district has 88 snow-bound and 86 non-snow-bound villages. Population Enumeration in the snow-bound areas will cover 2,27,785 persons through 388 Enumeration Blocks, with 426 Enumerators and 78 Supervisors, including reserve personnel.
Reviewing the charge-wise preparedness in Banihal, Khari, Pogal-Paristan, Ramsoo, Ramban, Batote, Rajgarh and Gool, the Deputy Commissioner directed the respective Charge Officers to closely monitor all preparatory arrangements, identify gaps and take timely corrective measures so that the enumeration process commences smoothly and is completed within the prescribed timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised that effective field-level coordination, continuous monitoring and timely resolution of bottlenecks are essential for the smooth and successful conduct of Census-2027 in the district.
