JAMMU: J&K BJP Secretary, Pawan Sharma today said that the unprecedented pace of infrastructural development in Jammu under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will pave the way for faster economic growth, regional progress, and enhanced opportunities for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that the Modi government has given top priority to building robust connectivity in the Union Territory, with mega projects in roads, railways, air connectivity, power, and digital infrastructure. “The upcoming Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway, the Jammu Ring Road, four-laning of national highways, and the completion of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla rail link will not only reduce travel time but will also give a big boost to tourism, trade, and industry in the region,” Sharma stated.
Highlighting the transformative projects, Sharma added that the expansion of Jammu Airport, modernization of railway stations, and new power and industrial corridors are turning Jammu into a hub of development. “These infrastructural investments will generate thousands of jobs, attract private investment, and ensure that our local economy becomes self-sustaining in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.
He also pointed out that rural infrastructure has equally benefited under the Modi government. “From the construction of new roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to improved electricity and water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission, every village in Jammu is experiencing a tangible change in quality of life,” he observed.
Sharma expressed confidence that the ongoing projects will not only integrate Jammu more closely with national economic corridors but also empower farmers, entrepreneurs, students, and women by opening new avenues of growth.
“Under the Modi government, Jammu is witnessing a historic transformation. These developments are not just physical structures, but the foundation of a prosperous future where every citizen will have access to better facilities, greater opportunities, and a dignified life,” he concluded.
