SRINAGAR: Police under the aegis of civic action programme, organized traffic awareness programme "WEAR HELMET SAVE LIFE" To develop a sense of responsibility among commuters while driving two-wheelers  and distributed crash helmets among the bikers in Kulgam.

The distribution function was organized on National Highway at Alstop, Mirbazar and was inaugurated by SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS in presence of Addl. SP NHW Qazigund Kulgam, DySP DAR DPL Kulgam, SHO PS Qaimoh and other officers/prominent citizens were present on the occasion.

While instructing bike riders, SSP Kulgam stressed upon the bikers to wear the helmet always during ride for safety and also urged them to work as ambassador on behalf of Police department and spread the message of safe driving by way of wearing crash helmets. He further warned that since the awareness programme has concluded, traffic violators will not be tolerated from now onwards, and urged the public to cooperate with the traffic police and the traffic wardens.
