SAMBA: Surjit Singh Slathia, Hon’ble MLA Samba, today laid foundation stones for the development of a Green Strip alongside Nallah at Ward No. 4/5 and at Sangwali Mandi, Ward No. 16, Samba.
The project is being executed at an estimated cost of Rs 38.83 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA termed it a significant step towards creating cleaner, greener and more sustainable public spaces for the people of Samba, in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s vision of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Green India Mission and Sustainable Urban Development.
He said the development of the green strip along the nallah will not only beautify the area but will also help in proper drainage, check encroachments and provide a healthier and eco-friendly environment for residents. "This project reflects the Modi Government’s commitment to building smart, clean and sustainable towns across the country, with focus on improving quality of life at the grassroots level," the MLA added.
The foundation laying ceremony was attended by Vikrant Mahajan, Mandal President, BJP Samba, Indu Wazir, Women President, BJP Samba, Tajinder Singh, President, Byopar Mandal Samba, Amardeep Singh, President, Rajput Sabha Samba, Rajni Sambyal, Prince, Sanjeev Padha, Raj Singh, Pawan Kohli, Vinod Singh, residents, party workers and officials of the concerned departments were also present. The event concluded with the MLA interacting with the public and assuring them of timely completion of the project.
