KUPWARA: Vice Chairman (V.C), District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir today inaugurated two important projects in Kawari area of Block Wavoora in Lolab.

The Vice Chairman inaugurated the building of Primary School Kawari Payeen constructed under SAMAGRA by R&B Department Lolab with a project cost of Rs.39.00 lacs. In addition, the Vice Chairman inaugurated the Tribal SMART School Kawari which has been upgraded from UPS.

On the occasion Vice Chairman, DDC said that the priority of District Administration and PRIs is to secure the future of children. Smart schools in tribal and remote areas equipped with modern facilities will develop scientific temper in children and make them future-ready, besides arresting the drop-out rate, he added.

He said that these initiatives will also ensure that the members of tribal communities can keep pace with the revolutionary and rapid changes happening around them and connect them to the world.

The Vice Chairman called upon the officers to make sincere and dedicated efforts for taking the benefits of all government schemes to the targeted sections of the society. Executive Engineer, R&B Lolab, Chief Education officer, Kupwara, ZEO Khumryal and other officers were present on the occasion.
