“We feel fear and unsafe while going to school due to the unknown eye teasers and the gamblers who have made home to these old school buildings at Andergam Pattan Baramulla”. The negliance of the Govt. and the concerned authorities for the Auction and for the dismantle of the old school buildings finally become a hub for eye teasers and gamblers.

Govt. spent cores of rupees for the maintenance of the school buildings everywhere but a little is utilised upon these buildings that is why the govt. infrastructure which is made with the money of the people, is getting worse day by day.  Such a bad infrastructure of the schools leaves a dull interest among the students. As we are aware about the fact that the impression of infrastructure from the private sector attracts the will of students as well as parents in bulk with the result the roles of private schools is dominant over the roles of Govt. schools.

Any govt. infrastructure whether of schools, roads, bridges, govt. departments and transport are usually found as neglected? Inspite of funds are released but are sometimes not utilised properly or most of the times gets lapsed and leaves the infrastructure as such. If the govt. would spent a little amount properly then infrastructure would gradually be corrected and thus the old buildings can be saved from total damage.

Govt. recently build some new school buildings in the village of Andergam Pattan but the contractors Inspite of heaving  a lot of space to erect these school buildings they have finally decided to erected these school buildings in a big cesspool which is surrounded throughout the year with the dirty stagnant water. This water has become a breeding place for mosquitoes and other flies which finally spread deadly diseases. The teachers and students covered their mouth with masks and use wooden logs and big boulders to cross over and reach their classrooms, but what about the small children’s who are getting education in these schools.  If someday somebody slips down into this water he/she would die and then who would be responsible for that all. If the concerned authorities inspect on that time then the condition of the school was not as such but who cares.

The Govt. Boy’s high school buildings are some of the examples, where the school buildings are destroyed and no actions are taken against these culprits.  The principle has auctioned such a big amount for the dismantle of these old buildings is a major cause that no one stands there to have this auction because everybody works for profit however there is a definite loss for anyone who would go to have for this auction. This is the reason these buildings are there for a long time and are hindering the infrastructure as well as the normal life of students in the school. These school buildings are now a hub for the gamblers and eye teasers who stay all the day in these old schools buildings. The students especially the girls feel insecure and unsafe with these eye teasers. The parents of now hesitate to send their girls in this school and they decide to change their school and admit their wards in private schools, which also diminishes the role of the students gradually in this school.

The village committee as approached so many times to the concerned authorities but there was nothing positive in this matter. We are now fed up with the hollow and fake promises of the govt. and the concerned authorities. They always assured us that they would solve the problems but they always neglected as usual. I again request to the concerned authorities MLA and the DC of the concerned jurisdiction that come forward and solve this big issue faced by our students learning in this school.
