  • Hails BRO for completing the project before time

RAJOURI: Stressing that the economic package announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give new fillip to the State’s economy, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said that it would provide the much needed impetus to the development works in the state. The Deputy Chief Minister said this after inaugurating the Dobaniyar Bridge to the people of Nowshera at Beripattan. The 55 m bridge constructed by the Border Roads Organization at a cost of Rs 4.5 Cr will connect villages of Dobaniyar, Minka-Mahadev, Kangri, Jabra Bajabhan and others.

Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Minister for Transport Ab. Gani Kohli, MLA Ravinder Raina, MLC Vibodh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Bhat, SSP Rajeshwar Singh, Chief Engineer BRO Brigadier Vishvajeet Bhattachrya and other senior officers were present on the occasion. Dr Nirmal Singh said that the central and state governments have envisaged a well knit developmental plan for the overall development of the state and concerted efforts are being made to achieve tangible results on ground.

He congratulated the executing agency for completing the prestigious project well within the stipulated time. He appreciated the role of Border Roads Organization in connecting difficult terrains and helping in the development of the state. Earlier during the day, the Deputy Chief Minister inspected various sections of the departments under his charge including PDD and Urban Development in the Civil Secretariat and resumed his routine work in the office.
