SRINAGAR: The Asmita Khelo India Women's Pencak Silat League, a pioneering initiative to promote women's sports in India, was formally inaugurated today at Sher Kashmir Indoor stadium Srinagar. The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests Shri Sarmad Hafeez, IAS, Chief Guest, and Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Guest of Honor. The league, part of the Khelo India program, aims to empower women athletes and foster a culture of sports excellence in the country.
The Pencak Silat tournament brings together talented women athletes from across India, providing a platform for them to showcase their skills and compete at a national level. The event was held under the banner of Sports Authority of India organised by Indian Pencak Silat Federation & Pencak Silat Association of J&K and under aegis of J&K Sports Council
