JAMMU: An awareness campaign on 3 new criminal laws was organised today in Tehsil Pargwal under the directions of District Administration Jammu. Sub Divisional Magistrate Khour Satish Kumar Sharma was the chief guest. He explained the concept of zero FIR, E FIR, incorporation of audio visual evidence etc.
Senior Prosecuting Officer Rohit Tidyal was the guest faculty/ Resource person who explained the three new laws in detail. Tehsildar Pargwal, Manjeet Singh also highlighted key provisions of the three new laws including 7 day timeline for submitting medical report by medical officer in rape case, provisions for children etc. Principal GHSS Balbir Kumar explained three new laws through a Power point presentation.
Special booklets were also provided to General public by the Tehsil administration Pargwal which contain information on the new criminal laws. Incharge Police Post Pargwal Amit Singh, Ex BDC Chairperson Pargwal, Sarpanchs, panchs and general public of Tehsil Pargwal participated in large numbers.
