KULGAM: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today reviewed the functioning of the District Ayush Society governing body here at the meeting hall of Mini-Secretariat. The meeting aimed to assess the society’s performance in implementing various Ayush-related programs and services in the district.
The governing body discussed several key aspects like AYUSH Services at H&WC’s, Primary Health Centers (PHC’s) and District Hospital. The meeting also discussed the implementation of National Ayush Mission (NAM) in the district, focusing on enhancing AYUSH health services, education, quality of drugs and IEC.
The formation and functioning of the District Ayush Society, which oversees the implementation of AYUSH programs and services in the district, was also discussed. The DC was aprised that five Ayush Centres in the district have been nominated for National Accreditation Board for Hospital (NABH) Certification this year.
During the meeting the Nodal Officer Ayush presented a detailed District Annual Action Plan for the year 2025-26 through power point presentation. The meeting emphasized on importance of inter-sectoral coordination and collaboration to strengthen AYUSH services in the district besides augmentation of Ayush Mobile Medical Unit in far-flung areas.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the governing body members to work together to achieve the goals of the National AYUSH Mission. DC proposed to open a separate Ayush Unit at District Hospital for the convenience of patients.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC, ACP, DHO, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kulgam, DNO Ayush Dr Ab Rehman , CDPO Kulgam, DPM Ayush, Drug Inspector Anantnag/Kulgam and Sr Medical Officers of Ayush Department.
