UDHAMPUR: The "Didi Ki Rasoi" canteen was formally inaugurated by Project Officer District Urban Development Agencies for Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua Jaffar Abass Batt at Sub District Hospital Ramnagar. The canteen was inaugurated in the presence of Block Medical Officer Ramnagar Dr. Harvinder Singh, hospital staff, self-help group members and locals.
This canteen offers a diverse range of home-cooked meals at affordable prices, managed by women Self-Help Groups constituted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission. The canteen serves as a platform for SHG members to showcase their culinary skills and entrepreneurial spirit, providing a sustainable income stream that empowers women to take charge of their financial lives.
Jaffar Abass Bhatt stated that this marks the sixth installment of Didi Ki Rasoi Canteen initiative launched under DAY-NULM. Previously, canteens were established at DC Office Complex Udhampur, Government College for Women Udhampur and Government Degree College Boys Udhampur.
Bhatt expressed heartfelt appreciation to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai for her unwavering support and highlighted the canteen's potential to provide sustainable income for SHG members. He also thanked BMO for allocating space to the SHG members within the Sub District Hospital premises.
