RAJOURI: In a significant step to harness the power of digital platforms for public outreach, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma today held an interactive meeting with prominent social media influencers of the district.
During the session, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the vital role that digital influencers can play in shaping public opinion and spreading awareness, especially among the youth. He emphasized the need to actively disseminate key messages under the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan, which commenced today across the district as part of a broader initiative to curb drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The DC urged the influencers to also focus on promoting different government schemes, tourism-related content, mental health awareness—particularly related to depression—as well as messages related to road safety and youth empowerment through Mission Youth. "Social media is a powerful tool and your contribution can significantly enhance the visibility and impact of these campaigns," he told the influencers.
To streamline efforts and ensure coordinated action, the District Information Officer (DIO) was instructed to work closely with the influencers and provide them with necessary content, updates, and support for wider dissemination of official information. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to use digital influence as a means of bringing about positive social change in Rajouri.
