KATRA: One day workshop on Capacity Building on Quality Initiatives held Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University under the Directorate of Quality Assurance, with support from Pradhan MantriUchchatarShikshaAbhiyan, where the Director DQA Prof. Suparn Sharma introduced the role of DQA in organising such events for universities employees supporting the institution in capacity building.
In his inaugural address the Honourable Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, Prof. Pragati Kumar emphasized the role of continuous learning in building capacity of the employees at the educational institution. He emphasised that, for capacity building to be effective, it must be inclusive, continuous, and aligned with long-term goals. Collaboration between institutions, industry experts, and policymakers further strengthens quality initiatives.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, Vice President-Research Relations Academic Ambassador Elsevier India. He interacted with the participants of the workshop in an Open-House interaction and embarked on the parameters of quality and how it can contribute to academic excellence. He stressed that for quality to be effective, our initiatives must be integrated into organizational culture, supported by leadership, and regularly assessed for improvement. By embracing a holistic approach that balances efficiency, environmental care, and social responsibility, we can build a future where quality and sustainability go hand in hand.
Prof. RajinderPeshin, Director Education Sher-e-kashmir Agricultural University, dwelled on the quality initiatives currently being taken up by the institutions of higher learning and how they can contribute to up lifting the academic quality of the institution. He said research drives innovations.
However, for this research to be truly impactful, it must be conducted with honesty, transparency, and ethical responsibility.
