SRINAGAR: Police in Shopian under the supervision of SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS conducted awareness programme on three new criminal laws at Mighty Bytes Coaching Centre Hermain. The programme aimed to enlighten the faculty, staff and students about the latest developments in the Indian legal framework. The laws discussed include Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.
The programme was chaired by SP Hqrs Shopian Shri Javeed Ahmad-JKPS, Sr. PO DPO Shopian Shri Pawan Preet Singh along with I/C PP Hermain and was attended by teaching staff and students of the coaching Centre.
The initiative also aimed to educate the students about enactment of new criminal laws, ensuring awareness and compliance with the updated legal framework. The chairing officers explained the essence of the new laws, clarifying their implications and stressing the importance of adherence to legal statutes for maintaining societal order.
The programme saw active participation from students and teaching staff who engaged in interactive discussions, questions and sought clarifications on the legal provisions presented. The new laws include provisions that ensure justice for the victims of crime and the society at large. Modernization of the investigation process through the use of technology has been included.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, acknowledging the importance of such awareness programmes in promoting a more law-abiding and informed society.
