POONCH: Focussed on themes of peace, dignity, self-awareness and contentment, a five-day Peace Education Workshop concluded at the Auditorium of Government Degree College Poonch today.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma presided over the valedictory function as Chief Guest at the workshop organised by the district administration in collaboration with The Prem Rawat Foundation. The workshop aimed at enabling participants to draw on inner resources for leading peaceful, productive and meaningful lives.
Speakers included Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ruby Naz Bhatti, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Mandi Anwar Khan, Senior Lecturer Haroon Rathore, Inspector Ghulam Hussain, Master Trainer Poonam Sehrawat and Facilitator Dr Avinashi of The Prem Rawat Foundation, each addressing one or more of the programme's ten key themes.
The DC appreciated the efforts of The Prem Rawat Foundation and urged participants to adopt the principles of peace, dignity and responsible choice in their workplaces so that these values may positively influence society at large.
Among those present were Chief Education Officer Javed Iqbal Gulshan, Chief Medical Officer Dr Parvez Khan, Principal Government Degree College Prof Jasbir Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Ajay Sharma and District Social Welfare Officer Aadil Mir. The workshop saw participation from officers and officials across the Education, Health, Police and Social Welfare departments.
