DODA: An awareness programme on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was convened here today in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office. District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Dhananter Singh, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh and other officials were also present to support the initiative.
The District Development Commissioner reiterated his commitment to ensuring adequate benefits to eligible artisans and urged them to seize the opportunities provided under the scheme. Further awareness camps are planned throughout the district to extend the scheme’s outreach and benefits. The event, supervised by General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), S. Paramjeet Singh, focused on informing local artisans, craftsmen, and small business owners about the scheme’s benefits.
Special attention was given to trades with a lower number of applications in the district, aiming to uplift traditional artisans by providing them access to modern technology, financial assistance and skill development opportunities. Held in line with the directives of the District Development Commissioner (DDC) and the Director of Industries and Commerce, Jammu, the programme highlighted the government initiatives for empowering traditional artisans.
IPO Neeraj Sharma addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in improving livelihoods. The session also covered the importance of registering under the scheme to avail of subsidies, loans, and other government assistance. The programme saw enthusiastic participation from local artisans, craftsmen, and entrepreneurs, who gained valuable insights into the scheme’s benefits and registration process.
