JAMMU: In the spirit of Diwali, the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu, celebrated Diwali Milan an event dedicated to expressing gratitude towards its contractual staff. Led by Director Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, CSIR-IIIM honoured the hard work and dedication of its team members by presenting them with specially curated Lavender gifts, including incense sticks, candles, and perfumes. The celebration aimed to acknowledge the essential contributions of the contractual staff, who form the backbone of the institutionâs daily operations.

Locally cultivated as part of CSIR-IIIMâs Aroma Mission, lavender plays a significant role in the instituteâs research on medicinal and aromatic plants. These gifts reflect CSIR-IIIM's commitment to sustainable livelihoods through lavender farming, benefiting farmers, self-help groups (SHGs), and communities in the region. By presenting lavender-based gifts, CSIR-IIIM celebrated Diwali while also highlighting its ongoing efforts to promote aromatic plant cultivation in Jammu and Kashmir.
