KATHUA: District Administration Kathua today observed Armed Forces Flag Day with patriotic zeal and fervor. To mark the occasion, the Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, District and sectoral Officers, NCC cadets, Ex-servicemen and officials of Zila Sainik Welfare Board assembled here in the District Administrative Complex.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ranjit Singh explained the significance of observing Armed Forces Flag Day. He said that the day is dedicated to acknowledge and honor the sacrifices rendered by the Men in Uniform, Ex-servicemen, valiant soldiers and their families. He said the day is being celebrated every year to collect funds for the betterment and welfare of the Army Personnel, war widows and their dependents.
The ADC exhorted the citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund as the money collected shall be spent for a noble cause. He also called for generating a handsome corpus by motivating all citizens to give a befitting gesture towards our Armed Forces. Later cadets and officials pinned and distributed small flags in exchange to the donors to instill a sense of responsibility and pride in citizens to take care of our Armed Forces personnel and their families.
