BUDGAM: Police in Budgam organized an awareness program on the new criminal laws (BNS, BNSS and BSA) at Boys Higher Secondary School Beerwah. The session aimed to educate students, teachers, and representatives from various departments about key changes in the legal system.

The event was chaired by SDPO Magam Shri Mohammad Ashrif-JKPS, along with SHO PS Beerwah, and attended by school staff, students, and other officials. Officers explained important provisions of the new laws, including faster investigations and trials, stronger protection for victims, stricter punishments for crimes against women and children and digital recording of witness statements for transparency.

The session encouraged interaction, with students and teachers actively participating in discussions and seeking clarifications. Budgam Police emphasized that these legal reforms aim to deliver swift justice, reduce crime and strengthen public trust in law enforcement.
