KULGAM: Youth Services & Sports (YSS) Department, Kulgam today organised the Annual Athletic Meet 2026 for girls all age group under the Annual Activity Calendar of the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, J&K.
The meet was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, who appreciated YSS Kulgam for promoting athletics and nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level.
He emphasized upon the budding athletes to make use of the platform to showcase their sporting spirit in a disciplined and competitive atmosphere. The event was also attended by Chief Education Officer Kulgam, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, officials and sports lovers alongwith enthusiastic participation of young athletes from all six zones.
Athletes competed in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 Girls categories across various track and field events, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1500m and 3000m races, besides Javelin Throw, Shot Put, High Jump, Long Jump and Discus Throw.
