KISHTWAR: The Director General, Youth Services & Sports (YS&S) J&K Anuradha Gupta today visited Kishtwar and reviewed the implementation of youth centric initiatives in the district. Chairing a meeting, she reviewed departmental activities, progress of UT Capex budget works including sports infrastructure projects, playfields, and other works being executed by the District Youth Services & Sports Department.
The Director General particularly reviewed major infrastructure and developmental projects, including the progress of work on basketball-Court at GHSS Boys Kishtwar, the construction of the ZPEO Office Building at Gulabgarh, the construction of a badminton court at GHSS Mughal Maidan, development of a playfield at Dangail, Padder and the development of a playfield opposite GHSS Nagseni.
The Director General took detailed feedback regarding the progress of these works and stressed the timely completion, quality execution and proper utilization of sports infrastructure for the benefit of students and young sportspersons.
Anuradha Gupta also reviewed the functioning and progress related to the DG YSS Portal, Sports Cluster Clubs, Elite Sports Clubs and other departmental initiatives aimed at strengthening the sports ecosystem and providing better opportunities to talented athletes across the district.
She directed the concerned officers and officials to ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes and programmes, proper maintenance of sports infrastructure and maximum utilization of available facilities for promoting sports at the grassroots level.
The Director General appreciated the hard work and dedication of the officers and officials of the Youth Services & Sports Department. She called upon the local sports fraternity to continue working with the same commitment and sincerity for the promotion of sports and the development of young sporting talent in Jammu & Kashmir.
Earlier, the DG was accorded a warm and cordial welcome by the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Jaffer Haider Sheikh, along with officers and officials of the District Youth Services & Sports Department.
