GANDERBAL: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ganderbal, today concluded a week-long series of legal awareness programmes organised under the NALSA (JAGRITI) Scheme, 2025, with the final programmes held at Islamia Hanfia Model High School, Harran, Ganderbal.
The series of programmeswere conducted under the chairmanship of Abdul Nasir, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA) Ganderbal, and under the overall supervision of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal.
The series of programme commenced on 24th August 2026 and continued till 31st August 2026, covering a range of important legal and social issues concerning students and youth. The programmes were organised with the objective of taking legal awareness to the grassroot level and sensitising the younger generation about their rights, duties and available legal remedies.
During the course of series of programme, awareness sessions were conducted on Anti-Ragging and Rights of Students; Empowering Youth for an Evolving Future; Digital Citizenship, Emerging Technology, Cyber Safety, Online Frauds and Digital Privacy; Constitutional Values, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties; Education, Child-Friendly Laws and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
The programme held today, focused on “Legal Awareness on Education, Child-Friendly Laws, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.” The session was conducted by Adv. Irfan Ahmad, Member of JAGRITI Unit, who sensitised the students about child rights, the importance of education, child protection mechanisms and relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection) 2015 Act.
The students were also apprised of the role of the Legal Services Authorities in ensuring access to justice, particularly for children and other vulnerable sections of society, and were informed about the availability of free legal aid and assistance.
The successful completion of the week-long initiative marks another significant effort by DLSA Ganderbal towards strengthening legal literacy and taking legal services and awareness to the grassroots level, in furtherance of the objectives of the NALSA (JAGRITI) Scheme, 2025.
