SHOPIAN: Continuing its sustained efforts to combat drug abuse and safeguard the future of youth, Police in Shopian organized series of impactful awareness programmes under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Awareness sessions were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School Imamsahib, Primary School Kralcheck, Almustafa Educational Institute Mashwara and in the market area of Heerpora, witnessing active participation from students, teaching staff and local community members. During the programmes, participants were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse, with emphasis laid on its physical, psychological, social and legal consequences. Students were encouraged to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and play an active role as ambassadors of change within their communities.

During the interaction, officers from Shopian Police urged the youth to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports and constructive activities. The participants also appreciated the efforts of Police in spreading awareness against the menace of drug abuse at the grassroots level.

J&K Police reiterated its firm commitment to continue such awareness initiatives under the ongoing 100 Days Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, with the objective of building a safer, healthier and drug-free society.
