HANDWARA: In a sustained endeavour to foster stronger police-public relations, promote community-oriented Policing. J&K Police organized Lok Darbar/Thana Diwas across various Police Stations and Police Posts in the police district Handwara.
The programmes were conducted under the supervision of senior police officers, wherein Station House Officers and In-Charges of Police Posts interacted directly with members of the public, including students, youth, elders, traders, and representatives of civil society. During the interactive sessions, participants highlighted various concerns pertaining to public safety, traffic management, youth welfare, and drug abuse prevention. Police officers attentively listened to the grievances and assured prompt and appropriate action. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while others were taken up on priority for further necessary action.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic public participation and was widely appreciated by the attendees, who expressed satisfaction over the accessibility, transparency, and responsiveness of the police. Police reiterated its unwavering commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-friendly policing and affirmed that such outreach programmes and awareness initiatives regularly to strengthen police-community partnerships and build a safer, more secure society.
