In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

BANDIPORA: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and prevent unlawful activities, J&K Police conducted checking drives targeting SIM card vendors and fertilizer shops at various locations across the district Bandipora.

SIM card vendors were checked at Ajas, within the jurisdiction of Police Post Ajas. Police teams examined the relevant records and emphasized the importance of maintaining proper documentation of SIM card sales and customer details, in accordance with applicable rules, to prevent any potential misuse.

Fertilizer shops at various locations falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Aragam and Police Post Sumlar were checked. During the checking, police teams examined the relevant records and instructed shopkeepers to maintain proper documentation and adhere to the prescribed rules and regulations, so as to prevent any diversion into black market, where they can be acquired by criminal, anti-social or anti-national elements.

During the checking drives, special emphasis was laid on the installation of CCTV cameras at business establishments. Shopkeepers were exhorted to install CCTV cameras at the earliest to strengthen surveillance and help prevent and detect unlawful activities.

The drives were aimed at monitoring the activities of these establishments, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations, and preventing potential unlawful activities. Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining public order and security and urged all concerned to cooperate with police during such checking drives.
