In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma CA, accompanied by senior BJP leaders, paid obeisance at Shiv Temple at Kashi Nagar, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. The leaders performed special puja and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and the spiritual unity of the nation.

Addressing devotees and party workers after the puja, Sat Sharma said that the year 2026 marks 1,000 years of the barbaric attack on the sacred Somnath Temple, as well as 75 years of its historic reconstruction, making it a moment of deep national reflection and collective resolve. He stated that Somnath stands today not merely as a temple, but as a living symbol of India’s civilizational resilience, faith, and continuity despite centuries of adversity

Sat Sharma emphasized that to commemorate this historic milestone, the year 2026 will be observed as “Somnath Swabhiman Parv”, dedicated to honoring the spirit of endurance, cultural pride, and national self-respect. He informed that on 10 January, people across the country participated in a collective spiritual movement by performing Omkar Mantra chanting, puja, and aarti in Shiv temples, remembering the three-day-long attack of January 8–10, 1026, and reaffirming commitment to safeguarding India’s spiritual heritage

He further said that on 11 January, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, a Sahasra Sankalp Yatra will be held at Somnath Temple, formally inaugurating year-long nationwide programs under Somnath Swabhiman Parv.

Sat Sharma called upon BJP leaders, elected representatives, and citizens to ensure maximum public participation, stating that such collective efforts strengthen national unity and reaffirm India’s timeless spiritual identity.
