RAJOURI: Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Rajouri today inaugurated the Inter-District Divisional Level Tournament for Under-19 Girls Kabaddi, here in the Mini Stadium Sports Complex.
The tournament, scheduled to be held from September 14 to 15, 2024, brings together teams of ten districts from the Jammu Division, with a total of 108 students/players and 20 in-charge contingents.
District Information Officer Ashiq Rafiq Malik; the Chief Guest and declared the tournament open. He was joined by DYSSO Sukhdev Raj Sharma, who welcomed the participants and the distinguished guests to the event.
The tournament is being conducted as per the schedule set by the Department’s activity calendar and is being held under the directives of Director General Youth Services & Sports, J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara and Joint Director Ved Parkash.
Senior officials, including ZPEO Baljarallan, Wali Mohd, ZPEO Rajouri, Gulbir Singh, PEM Mohinder Pal, PEM Adris Ahmed Wani, and various PEL/PEM/PET/REK staff, were also present at the inaugural event.
The morning session saw exciting matches in which Jammu defeated Doda, Rajouri defeated Poonch, Kishtwar defeatd Ramban and Udhampur defeated Samba. The tournament will continue tomorrow, concluding with the final matches and prize distribution.
