- Appeals to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for immediate intervention
- Rehabilitation and financial aid demanded for fire victims, criticizes administration's inaction
KISHTWAR: Former Minister J&K, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in the village of Manwarwan, Inshan, located in the Warwan area of Kishtwar district, where a sudden fire engulfed and destroyed around 70 houses. The devastating fire left local residents homeless and deprived them of all their belongings, forcing them to live under the open sky.
Saroori pointed out that the lack of fire services in the area results in such incidents causing severe damage. Criticizing the government's inaction, he remarked that despite recurring demands and previous incidents, no practical measures have been taken by the administration. As a result, massive fire-related damages have become a common occurrence in the region, costing millions each year.
Speaking about the incident, Saroori stressed the need for helicopter services in such remote and challenging areas to ensure timely assistance and control fire outbreaks quickly. He highlighted that the negligence of the administration and the absence of fire services have led to such incidents becoming routine, underscoring the urgency for proper fire management solutions.
Saroori called upon Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally visit Manwarwan, Inshan, and take appropriate and swift measures to assist the victims. He urged the administration to provide financial aid and facilitate the rehabilitation of the affected families as soon as possible.
Saroori reiterated that, despite frequent public appeals and the recurrent nature of such incidents, the administration has consistently failed to take serious action. He called on the authorities to provide all necessary help to the fire victims in Manwarwan and formulate a comprehensive rehabilitation plan. At this tragic moment, Saroori expressed his heartfelt sympathy with the affected families and assured them of his full support. He also appealed to the public and the administration to come forward and help the victims in rebuilding their lives.
