SAMBA: The Handloom Department organized a one-day awareness camp and seminar at its office in Nandani Hills, Samba. Assistant Director Handloom, Niharika and Assistant Director Handicrafts, Ekshu Sharma, addressed the participants, highlighting initiatives offering skill training and financial assistance to artisans.

They emphasized the role of artisans in preserving cultural heritage and contributing to the local economy. The event also provided an interactive platform to artisans to raise queries, understand the application process, and share their challenges. The department reaffirmed its commitment to empowering artisans and preserving the region’s rich handloom heritage.
