KUPWARA: In order to promote physical fitness and overall well-being among children of child care institutions of District Kupwara, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Mission Vatsalya Kupwara, supported by the National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD), organized a three-day sports event for children from Palaash and Pareesha.

The event, held at Palaash Handwara, featured a range of exciting sports activities, including chess, carom, Yoga activities. The activities were conducted under the guidance of District Child Protection Officer, Kupwara. He emphasized the importance of sports activities in keeping children fit and healthy, while also promoting learning and development.

"Sports activities are essential for the overall growth and development of children," he said adding, "They not only improve physical fitness but also teach valuable life skills like teamwork, discipline, and perseverance."
