DODA: Government Degree College Doda, in collaboration with JK Science & Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Udhampur organized a one day awareness program and intercollegiate slogan writing competition on the theme "Biodiversity and its Importance." In the first Session, Chander Shekhar discussed biodiversity, its importance and also emphasized the need for holistic development which requires innovation and new ideas. His lecture was very informative and appreciated by the students.
In the second session, Sandeep Kumar focussed on sustainable development and said that these platforms of Science and Technology will help students not only sharpen their creative skills but also transform their ideas into impactful solutions. An interactive session ensued, where students had the opportunity to clear their doubts on various issues. Inter college slogan writing competition was also organised where the students of different District Doda colleges participated.
Among the 32 participating students, Anu was adjudged first while Fitra stood second and Ateeka got the third prize. Principal GDC Dr. Javed Iqbal honoured the winners of slogan writing competition with a memento and Cash Prize. Mementos were also presented to the jury members and distinguished guests as a token of appreciation. Dr Jamsheed Ahmed, of the Department of English hosted the event, while Prof Vijay Kumar, Prof Purnima Manhas and Prof Rahul Uttam provided technical and logistic support. Around 150 students and faculty from different colleges of Chenab valley attended the event.
