DODA: In a significant step towards combating tuberculosis, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh on Friday launched the Adult BCG Vaccination Programme here at the OPD complex of Associate Hospital, GMC. The event was organized under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) by the District Health Society.
Marking the first administration of the Adult BCG vaccine in the district, the initiative aims to bolster efforts in the fight against tuberculosis. The DC, who was the chief guest at the event, inaugurated the programme with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. During the launch, a total of 300 TB patients received treatment, demonstrating the district's commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare for all.
The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of proactive measures to eliminate TB and praised the efforts of the health department for their dedication to public health. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal of GMC Doda, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and several senior doctors, who lauded the programme as a milestone in the district's healthcare journey.
