- Calls for immediate support, rehabilitation for affected communities ahead of winter
SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has expressed deep concern over two horrific incidents of fire in the areas of Malwar Warwan in Kishtwar, and Tulail in Gurez which resulted in the burning of nearly 100 residential houses, including the Jamia Masjid of Malwar Warwan, as well as the destruction of a vibrant market and two residential homes in Tulail.Mirwaiz expressed solidarity with the victims and lamented the financial losses worth millions of rupees caused by these fires.
He urged philanthropists and aid organisations in Jammu and Kashmir to come forward for the immediate rehabilitation and resettlement of the affected individuals, so that the impoverished and financially vulnerable population in these areas can receive some support, especially with the winter season approaching.He said the rapid loss of homes for a large financially weak population is distressing and soul-crushing.
He expressed empathy with their struggles and hardships. Mirwaiz prayed to Allah to grant courage and strength to the affected people during these testing times, so that they can rebuild their homes as soon as possible.
