KHALTSI (LEH): The two-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on Mission LiFE, Poshan Abhiyaan and Swachhta Hi Seva organised by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India concluded on Friday at the Multipurpose Hall of the SDM Office, Khaltsi, Leh. The event, organised by CBC's Anantnag and Leh Field Offices, aimed to raise awareness about sustainable living, nutrition, and cleanliness.
The experts and resource persons representing various departments, including ICDS, Health, Education, Agriculture, and Forest highlighted the importance of sustainability, promoting practices such as waste segregation at source, mindful consumption of various resources, and the critical role of balanced nutrition in tackling malnutrition.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, delivered a keynote address, urging participants to adopt sustainable practices and focus on improving nutrition in their daily lives. He emphasized the significance of government welfare schemes and the benefits they provide to the community.
Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar, further emphasized CBC's role in grassroots-level outreach, ensuring that citizens are well-informed about the government's initiatives. He said that similar outreach programmes were organised across the UT of Ladakh in the past two weeks with more events planned in Leh and Kargil districts until 10th of October.
As part of the programme, various departments set up stalls to provide on-the-spot services to attendees. The event also featured open quizzes and drawing competitions, with participants being awarded mementos and certificates of appreciation. The students also presented colourful cultural performances. The outreach programme witnessed active participation from sub-divisional administration officials, teachers, ICDS workers, students, and members of the local community.
