- DC prioritizes Drug De-addiction, Skilling & Education development
SHOPIAN: A District Level Committee (DLC) meeting under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) was today held at Shopian with an aim to formulate a comprehensive plan under the scheme. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar. The PMJVK scheme aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of minority communities by providing them with basic amenities like education, health, infrastructure, skill development and employment opportunities for the youth.
The committee discussed various aspects of the scheme, including interventions required in education, health, infrastructure development and skill development sectors in the district. Model Drug de-addiction centre, Integrated Skilling centre with smart classrooms for men and women, Smart Boards for Classrooms, Augmentation of Sports Fields, Mobile Medical Facility on Mughal Road, establishment of Health Centres, Gym cum Yoga cum Wellness Centres among other development interventions were some of the projects approved to be incorporated in the Plan under preparation.
During the meeting, the DC further instructed for sector wise, comprehensive plan formulation under the scheme for holistic development of the socio-economic parameters of the district. The meeting was attended by various district officers of the departments and representatives of NGOs working in the district.
