BHADERWAH: The Directorate of Horticulture Jammu successfully organized the 1100-KM Mission Horticulture Awareness Programme under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), MIDH, and other schemes of the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

The event, chaired by District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal, aimed to promote horticulture development initiatives across the region. In his address, DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal applauded the efforts of the horticulture department and emphasized the role of sustainable farming and innovative practices in transforming the horticulture sector in the UT. He urged farmers to utilize government schemes and adopt high-density plantation techniques to enhance production and profitability. Officials also underlined the significance of mechanization and automation in improving horticultural productivity.

The program concluded with a call for increased participation from the farming community to achieve the full potential of horticulture development in the region. Various projects such as Farm Mechanization and Automation, Rainfed Area Development, and Designer Plant Production were showcased as key pillars for growth.
