- Calls for strengthened monitoring, expansion of outreach
RAMBAN: Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak today chaired a meeting to review the implementation and progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) being implemented by the Agriculture and allied departments in the district.
The meeting focused on assessing the progress of the projects and schemes of the Programme, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, improving inter-departmental coordination and ensuring effective service delivery to the farming community.
The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Tehsildar Hqr, AMO, AD Fisheries, DSHO and Officers from Animal Husbandry and other allied departments. The ADC reviewed the status of HADP projects and initiatives being implemented in the district. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts to achieve the intended outcomes of the programme.
Referring to the huge potential of sheep farming in the district, the ADC directed the Sheep Husbandry Department to intensify awareness and sensitisation programmes and educate farmers about modern sheep-rearing techniques, available schemes and the benefits of adopting sheep farming as a sustainable livelihood activity.
