KISHTWAR: Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ghulam Rasool today chaired a monthly review meeting to assess the progress of Water Supply Schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district. The meeting was attended by District Programme Manager, Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, DFOs besides AEEs and other concerned.

The meeting focused on ensuring the timely completion of ongoing projects amidst the challenges posed by the district's limited working season. During the meeting, the ADDC expressed concern over the impending deadlines for the completion of various water supply schemes under JJM. He highlighted the importance of adhering to the stipulated timelines to ensure that the residents of Kishtwar have access to clean and reliable water supply.

ADDC emphasized that given the district’s unique geographical and climatic conditions, it is imperative that all projects are completed within the limited working season available. ADDC issued clear directives to the concerned authorities, instructing them to mobilize contractors, as well as deploy adequate manpower and machinery, to expedite the work on these crucial schemes. He underscored the need for coordinated efforts to overcome any potential delays and achieve the mission’s objectives without further setbacks.

Furthermore, the ADDC stressed the importance of collaboration between the Forest Department and the Jal Jeevan Mission authorities. He urged the Forest Department to work closely with the JJM teams to swiftly address and remove any encumbrances that may hinder the smooth implementation of water supply schemes within forest divisions.

This coordination is vital to ensuring that the projects proceed without unnecessary obstacles, thereby benefiting the communities that depend on them. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to prioritize the timely completion of the water supply schemes, which are critical for improving the quality of life for the residents of Kishtwar. The ADDC assured that regular follow-up meetings will be held to monitor the progress and address any issues that may arise during the implementation process.
