JAMMU: BJP POJK Refugee Cell, Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, under the leadership of its President, Sardar Balvinder Singh Soodan, along with Surinder Singh Gilli, Incharge of Political Programmes and Meetings, BJP, organized a protest march to strongly condemn the brutal killing of innocent civilians in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK), at the hands of the Pakistan Army.

The protest witnessed the participation of State Co-Convenors, District Convenors, Co-Convenors, and Executive Members of the BJP POJK Refugee Cell from across the Union Territory. Raising slogans against the continued human rights violations in POJK, the participants expressed deep anguish over the tragic loss of innocent lives and demanded justice for the victims and their bereaved families.

Sardar Balvinder Singh Soodan, addressing the gathering, strongly condemned the inhuman actions of the Pakistan Army and stated that the people of POJK have been subjected to oppression, fear, and the denial of their fundamental human rights for decades. The repeated targeting of innocent civilians is unacceptable and deserves unequivocal condemnation from the entire civilized world. The international community cannot remain a silent spectator while innocent people are being deprived of their right to live with dignity and security, he said.

Surinder Singh Gilli, speaking on the occasion, said that the continued atrocities against the residents of POJK expose the grim reality faced by people living under Pakistan's control. He stated that while Pakistan attempts to portray itself as a champion of certain causes on international platforms, it has consistently failed to protect the basic rights and freedoms of the people residing in POJK. The voices of our brothers and sisters in POJK cannot be ignored any longer. The world must acknowledge their suffering and hold those responsible for these grave human rights violations accountable. The BJP stands firmly with the displaced families and the people of POJK in their struggle for justice, dignity, and democratic rights, Gilli said.

The BJP POJK Refugee Cell appealed to the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to take immediate cognizance of the situation in POJK, conduct an impartial investigation into these incidents, and ensure the protection and safety of innocent civilians living in the region.

The Cell also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to continue highlighting the concerns of the people of POJK at national and international forums and to pursue all possible diplomatic measures aimed at safeguarding the welfare, security, and interests of the people residing in the region.

Protestors reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to stand in solidarity with the people of POJK and to continue advocating for their rights, dignity, justice, and freedom from oppression.
