JAMMU: In a landmark step towards encouraging a supportive and inclusive work environment at District Court Jammu, Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Arun Palli, today inaugurated the Creche facility at the District Court Complex (DCC), Jammu.

The ceremony was held in presence of Justice Sanjeev Kumar; Justice Sindhu Sharma; Justice Rajnesh Oswal; Justice Rahul Bharti; Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi; Justice Rajesh Sekhri; Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani; Justice Shahzad Azeem; Registrar General of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Mohinder Kumar Sharma; Member, J&K Special Tribunal, Jammu, Yash Paul Bourney; Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, Ravinder Nath Watal; Registrar Vigilance Rajiv Gupta and other officers of the Registry along with Judicial Officers of District Jammu headquarter, Bar President, Nirmal Kishore Kotwal and Monika Kohli Additional Advocate General.

The newly established Creche is a modern, child-friendly facility designed to provide a safe, secure and nurturing space for the children of working parents, particularly women advocates, court staff and officers serving in the District Court Complex. Equipped with essential amenities, trained caregivers and age-appropriate learning resources, the creche aims to ease the challenges faced by working parents and help them balance professional commitments with childcare responsibilities effectively.

The Chief Justice also laid the foundation stone for the upcoming Young Lawyers’ Chambers at the District Court Complex. The proposed chambers are intended to address the long-standing need for dedicated workspace for the young advocates practicing in the district courts. The infrastructure will provide budding lawyers with a professional environment to consult clients, prepare cases and develop their practice, thereby strengthening the Bar and improving access to justice.

Thereafter a plantation drive was also organized within the court complex. All the Judges, President Bar Association and other dignitaries present actively participated in the drive and planted saplings.
