In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

BANDIPORA: In view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to finalise preparations across the district. On the occasion, DC emphasised seamless inter-departmental coordination to ensure a safe, clean and hassle-free festival for the public. He urged the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply, especially in areas where large congregational prayers are expected.

During the meeting, DC directed Chief Executive Officer MC Bandipora and Executive Officer MC Sumbal/Hajin to launch special sanitation drives around mosques, Eidgahs, and other public spaces, and to ensure timely garbage disposal during the festival.

Stressing the importance of checking overpricing, hoarding and the sale of substandard food items, DC urged the FCS&CA and Legal Metrology Departments to intensify market inspections. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining hygiene at temporary meat stalls, with directions to ensure proper storage and sale conditions for mutton and other perishable items.

During the review meeting, DC urged Traffic Police to enhance vigilance, deploy adequate personnel near major religious sites, and issue advisories to regulate traffic and ensure public safety. On the occasion, DC assured that district administration is fully geared up to facilitate a smooth Eid ul Adha festival. He appealed to the public to extend full cooperation to the authorities and celebrate the occasion in a spirit of peace, harmony, and brotherhood.

The meeting witnessed the participation of Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora; DPO ICDS, CPO, AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar Bandipora, DySP DAR and District Officers from various departments. SDM Sumbal, SDM Gurez and other concerned officers attended the meeting virtually.
