GANDERBAL: In a significant action against public disorder and to maintain peace and discipline in the society, J&K Police has successfully secured community punishment for 02 individuals namely, Sahil Ahmad Rather son of Manzoor Ahmad Rather and Mohd Hussain Rather son of Ghulam Mohd Rather, both residents of Kangan involved in a public nuisance case.

The action comes as part of J&K Police’s continued drive to ensure a peaceful and law-abiding environment across the district. The convicted individuals were found guilty of creating public nuisance in a drunken state, thus disturbing the peace and tranquillity in their locality.

Following due legal proceedings, the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Court, Kangan awarded both the accused community punishment to clean the premises of JMIC Court, Kangan.

This initiative underscores the commitment of J&K Police towards promoting community accountability and responsible civic behaviour. Such measures serve as a deterrent for others who indulge in acts that disrupt public order and harmony.
