REASI: In observance of National Road Safety Month, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Reasi in collaboration with Kul Devi Bua Jamas Trust, Kote Galli Thuroo organized a District-level Road Safety Quiz Competition for students at the Conference Hall, Dharmari.

The programme was conducted in line with the national mission of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to reduce road accidents and promote safe road practices, under the theme “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha” (Road Safety, Life Safety).

Highlighting the importance of early road safety education, the organizers emphasized that students are the future commuters and responsible citizens of the nation. Through active participation in the quiz competition, students were encouraged to become road safety ambassadors, spreading awareness about traffic rules and safe driving practices among their peers, families and the wider community.

As part of the initiative, helmet distribution was carried out among two-wheeler riders to promote the use of protective gear and enhance rider safety. The event also featured interactive awareness sessions and discussions focusing on traffic rules, road discipline, pedestrian safety and the importance of complying with motor vehicle laws. Information about online services of the Motor Vehicles Department was also shared with the public to facilitate ease of access and transparency.

The programme was organized jointly by the Motor Vehicles Department and the Police Department, reflecting strong inter-departmental coordination in promoting road safety awareness. Certificates and trophies were distributed among winning students to encourage participation and recognize their efforts in promoting road safety education.
