In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family
  1. Says the NC-BJP ‘secret alliance’ restores to old tactics of division of vote bank

VIJAYPUR: Apni Party’s Contesting Candidate for Vijaypur Assembly Constituency, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh Wednesday accused National Conference (NC) for making allegedly a ‘secret deal’ with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure the victory of right-wing political party. “The NC publicly criticizes BJP to gain the trust of the people, particularly the minorities. The shift of the minority vote bank to NC gives advantage to the BJP in their stronghold Vijaypur,” said the Former Minister, who is a contesting candidate for Vijaypur Constituency.

He was addressing public meetings in Vijaypur constituency. He said that the BJP is frustrated with the overwhelming response to the Apni Party and its agenda of equitable development and protection of resources. “Our stance in favour of the general masses has frustrated the BJP and hence, both the parties have entered into a ‘secret alliance’ to ensure that the BJP candidate wins the legislative elections,” he said, criticizing the divisive agenda that is being put forwards and implemented on the ground by both the political parties.

He said that attempts are being made by both the parties to mislead the people, and exploit their emotions to convert them into votes to return to power. “The people of Vijaypur have not forgotten the sufferings of ten years, and the agenda of divide and rule that was implemented for decades by both the parties in the last seven decades in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He said that the Apni Party has gained its ground in Vijaypur, and the people have also extended their support to the party’s agenda and policy of welfare for the people to upgrade their living standard. He appealed to the people to identify these divisive political parties and isolate them by extending their support and cast vote in favour of the Apni Party candidate in Vijaypur constituency that is facing negligence for the last several years, and development has become a distant dream for the people of this constituency.
